Visual movement is used by artists to direct viewers through their work, often to focal areas. Such movement can be directed alone lines, edges, shapes, and colors within the works, but moves the eye most easily on paths of equal value.

This painting is called Starry Night, you can already know that it night time in this painting by looking at it. You can also tell by the light color, and dark-value design shapes lead to the focal area. The Starry Night show many movement like how bright the stars and moon are, an how the sky filled with different clouds flowing around like swirling winds. You can also notice that some houses lights are on and can see a dark figure that almost look like a fire or a tall tree.
The artist used different elements to move the eyes along: By how and where the artists places the elements and what tools and techniques he uses to move the eye from one area to the other. By having large objects placed far apart that will cause the eye to bounce from one to the other. The artist used other trails, pathways and a bridge from one to the another and this help to create a sense of flow and order to the design
